Basic Features to be Included in a Dishwasher

A dish washer is a device used for cleaning the dishes and the eating utensils. Finding the right type of dishwasher for your kitchen will make your task easy. Here under are some of the important features that must be included in every dishwasher regardless of the type, size etc.

Dirt Sensor:
A dirt sensor can improve the efficiency and it adjusts water use and cycle length to soil level.

Racks and Loading Aids:
Racks that adjust up or down, adjustable tines, and silverware and stemware holders helps in reconfiguring the interiors and organize the contents. They can even help to accommodate large and oddly shaped items.

Wash Cycles:
Majority of the dishwashers comes with three wash cycles - light, normal, and heavy and some of the washers also contain pot scrubber, scrub, steam clean, crystal, or sanitizing cycles as well.

Stainless Steel Tub:
Steel is more durable than plastic, so the dishwasher consisting of steel tub lasts for longer time than the dishwasher which has plastic tubs.

Rinse or Hold Cycle:
It rinses the dirty dishes before starting a full cycle. This cycle can reduce odors.

Filters:
These keep wash water free of food that could be redeposited on clean dishes. There are two types of filters - self cleaning and manual. Most filters are self cleaning, in this a grinder pulverizes the debris and flushes it down the drain. Some models have a filter without a grinder but it needs periodic cleaning.

Touch Pad Controls:
There are two types of touch pads one is hidden and the other is partially visible, these pads show that the machine is running and often display remaining cycle time. Controls mounted along the top edge of the door are strictly a styling touch.

The above are the basic, yet important features a dish washer should have.
