The problems faced by hearing impaired in traveling

Traveling is an important aspect in life. People require traveling for many reasons like vacation, office, shopping, etc. Often, many common people face problems while traveling. And the trouble is more in case of disabled.

Traveling with hearing impairment can be very critical, as the impaired might have to deal with many problems during their travel. According to National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), there are around 36 million people in America who are suffering from hearing loss at some degree. What might have been the problems they deal with while they travel every time?
  • They cannot use phones in case of urgency.
  • They cannot hear to the crucial announcements at airlines or reservations.
  • They cannot hear or talk to their fellow travelers – casually or in case of help requirement.
  • They cannot hear to warning signals or crucial alarms.
There are many other problems that they face while traveling. Most of them can treat this hearing impairment with hearing aids. But, NIDCD says only one out five people who could benefit from a hearing aid actually uses one.
