How to Fold Cloth Napkins for Table Settings?

Cloth napkins are used for decorative purpose as well as for wiping and cleaning the mouth and hands. It offers an elegant touch to any lunch or dinner table while you are dining. Many patterns of folding of cloth napkins are there such as from basic half folds to birds to animals etc. for decorating a table which gives an elegant look to your table. A simple basic fold for a cloth napkin gives the table a clean and sophisticated look. Cotton and linen napkins are used to create pocket folds and many other folding. Before folding the napkins you have to wash, dry and iron them for a crisp and clean look.

Lay the napkin on the floor with the right-side facing down. Then fold the napkin to half by bringing two farthest corners towards you.

Then, fold the napkin into quarters by bringing the two right corners over to line up with the left-hand corners.

Turn the napkin 90 degrees so that the open edges are at the right and top sides of the folded square.

Separate the top-most layer from the top left-hand corner and fold diagonally to meet the bottom right-hand corner.

Flip the entire napkin, so that the fold just made is faces down.

Fold the right-hand edge toward the middle of the square about one-third of the way over. Fold the left-hand side over about a third of the way and tuck the bottom corner into the small triangle pocket.

Turn the napkin over and insert silverware in to the pocket.
