How often Wiper Blades need to be Changed

Windshield wipers are also called as wind screen wipers. They are used to remove water or steam or snow on the windscreen. There is legal requirement to have them. They are most important safety features of the vehicle.

Windshield wipers will help the driver to provide clear view of the road. Generally, most of the accidents can be caused by the improper view of the road. Using proper maintained wind shield can avoid the accidents. Generally, wiper blades are replaced when old ones get damaged. Many people have the doubt about when to change the wiper blades.

This can be determined by many things like usage, weather, maintenance, etc. Generally, one can replace them once in a year. But, people do not wait until the rubber part of the windscreen wiper is torn. A blurred vision and more vision problems arise because of damaged wipers while driving on snowy or icy roads through rain. Then it may lead to accidents. After one year, you should examine wipers frequently.

Sometimes, wipers damage before one year under some conditions. If there are streaking, chattering, worn rubber or damaged wiper frames then it is the time to change the wipers regardless of time of one year or six months.

Even in dry conditions or areas in which wipers are required, they should be changed once in a year. Wipers which are not used can dry out and crack, they cannot provide proper service.

There are blades or refills of wipers available in many stores. Generally, blades can easily be replaced on your own.

The minimum period for changing wipers is one year. You should change wiper blades after certain period of time regardless of their damage.
