Types of Kitchen Towels

The towels which are intended to use for kitchens are kitchen towels. These towels are necessary in the kitchen for wiping and drying the kitchen appliances and dishes, wiping hands after wash, cleaning the counter mobs etc,. The kitchen towels are 100% cotton because the cotton absorbs moisture better than the other fibers. However the 100% cotton yarn kitchen towels are good to use because they are washable and heat resistant. The minimum size of kitchen towel is around 50x50cm. Size can vary greatly, and since many towels are made of absorbent cotton and subject to hot water washes, shrinkage is common and expected.

Kitchen towels are available in different sizes with different colors. Some people are using these towels in their kitchens for decorative purposes, but the main function is drying and wiping the dishes and to maintain neat and efficient kitchen.

There are four types of kitchen towels:
1) Dish towels
2) Glass ware or Tea towels
3) Hand towels
4) Counter towels or Bar mop towels

Dish towels are the towels used for drying dishes, cutlery, pots and pans and kitchen appliances after they are washed by the hand or the dish washer.

Glass ware or tea towels are mainly for drying cutlery as well as glass and bone china things. It is also used to spread over a tea tray or used to cover the warm dishes or tea pots.

Hand towels are very smaller in size around 30X60cm and is used for drying and wiping the hands after washing them.

Counter towels or Bar mop Towels are used for drying the counters, cleaning up spills of a kitchen etc.

These towels are used for only kitchen and should be kept separately. Daily washing is required for these clothes in order to maintain cleanliness.
