Knowing about Drug Test Kits

The number of people being addicted to illegal drugs has been increasing rapidly. However, the individuals claim that they have not consumed drugs. So drug tests have to be conducted to detect whether a person has consumed the substance drug or not. In order to perform the drug tests, drug test kits are available.

Drug test kits are designed in such a way that they are able to detect a specific drug. They are also developed to detect multiple drugs. A five panel drug test detects opiates, amphetamines, cocaine, phencyclidine (PCP), and cannabinoids. A 10 panel drug test is able to detect barbiturates, methadone, and methamphetamines along with the drugs that are detected in five panel test. These kits can be used in schools and organizations to perform random drug testing. Drug test kits may be of different types based on the method used. Saliva, urine, and hair can be used in drug testing. However, urine is the most common drug used in drug testing kits.

The drug test kits have certain limitations. Sometimes when a drug test is performed on a same day on two individuals who have taken same drug, the result may be different for the two cases. That is one person may be tested positive and the other negative. This happens because the time for elimination of traces of illicit drug consumed depends on many metabolic factors.

The availability of drug test kits is significantly increasing. Drug test kits are being used by many organizations, businesses and offices to perform pre-employment drug screening. The kits are also used by parents to detect if their children have been addicted to drugs. Many kits are available in retail stores such as superstores and pharmacies, and also on the internet.
