Know How to Remove Mold from Conservatory Blinds

A conservatory looks more beautiful when featured with blinds. Also, they are functional in keeping the room cool and hot in summer and winter days respectively. They even provide privacy and helps you to enjoy well without being looked upon by your neighbors. However, the conditions of a conservatory are ideal for mold growth. The condensation on the windows aid mold development on the blinds. The mold spores attach to the porous surfaces of the fabrics of conservatory blinds. So, they need to be cleaned frequently to maintain their appeal and function.

Clean the area around the blinds. Remove any plant pots or furniture and then close the blinds. If the blinds have any dry mold, brush it off with a stiff-bristled hand brush. Remember to put on a dust mask while cleaning. The blinds can be cleaned with any kind of sprays or special mold-cleaning products that are available in market. However, it is better to clean them with natural and non-toxic solutions prepared from household products. It is also an inexpensive method to maintain your conservatory blinds.

One of the many natural home-made solutions is to use vinegar and baking soda. Mix about 6 tsp. baking soda with one cup white vinegar in a bucket. Then, add a few drops of lemon juice and fill the bucket full with warm water. These items are natural cleaners. So, you need not worry about the damage or staining of the fabric or wooden blinds. If you use cleaners having bleach chemicals, the colors of the blinds may get faded.

Upon mixing water to the bucket, soak a terry cloth in the solution compress until it is damp. Then, wipe the moldy areas of the blinds with the terry cloth till the mold is removed. Now, rinse the cloth in cold water and again wipe the blinds to remove any cleaning solution. Leave the blinds down till they dry and fix them later. Use this simple technique instead of the expensive chemicals to clean the mold of your conservatory blinds.
