  1. While taking health insurance, first you should estimate your budget. This helps you choose, how much premium you can afford for your health insurance.
  2. After selecting premium size, search for companies. Look for companies that offer health insurance within your estimated premium amount.
  3. Once you select a company to take insurance, you should know the benefits of the policy like coverage of the policy, premium period, coverage of medical bills, and whether the policy offers any benefits to family members.
  4. Know the policy benefits for the emergency surgeries or operations. Check whether the policy offers benefits for all surgeries or there is any exception.
  5. Know about benefits for medical expenses, such as how much percentage of medical bill the policy covers/reimburses.
  6. Know whether your policy benefits are available in all hospitals. In some case, it is restricted to a few hospitals only.

  8. Before commit to buying a policy, it is essential that you understand exactly what will the policy pay for and what will the policy not pay for. Be sure that you read the exclusion part of the policy very carefully. Many health benefits are strictly optional.
